We’re looking for a Head of Operations & Delivery to work directly with our Chief Executive, turning plans into action and investment into measurable results.
Someone with energy, presence, sound judgement and commercial discipline. Someone who takes ownership and follows through.

You’ll create pace. Set standards. Solve problems. Measure what changed. And be accountable for results.
Your background could be hospitality, property, retail, events, operations, destination management, an agency, local government or a BID.
Where you come from matters less than how you operate.

About Let’s Go Glasgow
Let’s Go Glasgow is Glasgow city centre’s Business Improvement District (BID), a business-led organisation with a £14 million budget over five years and a clear mandate to deliver visible improvements across the city centre.
Our focus is practical: making Glasgow city centre cleaner, safer, more vibrant and more competitive for businesses, visitors and residents.
We are looking for a Head of Operations & Delivery to help turn that ambition into action.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on role working directly with the Chief Executive, with responsibility for turning the BID Business Plan into visible, measurable results.
You will lead operational delivery across the BID, managing people, projects, contractors and delivery partners. You will combine sound judgement and commercial discipline with the energy and pace to get things done.
This is not a desk-based project management role. You will be highly visible across Glasgow city centre, working closely with businesses, partners and contractors and seeing first-hand the places and services in which we invest.
You will have appropriate delegated authority to make day-to-day operational decisions, with accountability for delivery, performance and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Place
- Translate the BID Business Plan into clear operational priorities, projects and measurable outcomes.
- Drive delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring activities are well planned, resourced, and delivered.
- Establish meaningful KPIs and use them to monitor performance, resolve issues and drive improvement.
- Lead operational activity across cleaning, safety, environmental quality and the public realm.
- Maintain a visible presence across the BID area, identifying issues and opportunities first-hand.
- Report clearly on delivery, performance, budgets and key risks to the Chief Executive and Board.
People Leadership
- Lead, manage and develop the BID delivery team, setting clear objectives and expectations.
- Build a positive, accountable and high-performing culture based on ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Coach and support colleagues, addressing performance issues constructively and ensuring the team has the capability to deliver.
Commercial, Procurement & Supplier Management
- Manage BID contracts, suppliers, frontline services and operational budgets, ensuring value for money.
- Lead and support procurement and tendering activity, with clear specifications, service standards and appropriate governance.
- Set and monitor supplier KPIs and address underperformance quickly and constructively.
- Maintain appropriate procurement, contract and performance records.
- Identify opportunities to improve service quality, commercial arrangements and efficiency.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Maintain appropriate operational risk, health and safety, procurement, contract and compliance arrangements.
- Ensure decisions and expenditure are made within agreed budgets, policies and delegated authority.
- Identify, manage and escalate significant operational, financial, contractual and reputational risks.
- Provide the Chief Executive and Board with clear and timely information to support effective oversight and decision-making.
Partnerships & Stakeholders
- Build strong, productive relationships with levy-paying businesses.
- Work collaboratively with Glasgow City Council, Police Scotland, transport partners and other city stakeholders.
- Bring partners together to solve problems and deliver shared outcomes.
- Represent Let’s Go Glasgow confidently at meetings, forums and operational groups.
- Deputise for the Chief Executive when required.
About You
We are looking for an operator, leader and deliverer.
You will bring energy, sound judgement and a strong sense of ownership. You will be comfortable moving between strategic conversations and practical delivery, and equally at home in the Boardroom and out on the streets of Glasgow.
You will be commercially aware, action-focused and comfortable making decisions. You will know how to get the best from people and suppliers, build productive relationships and challenge constructively when standards fall short.
Above all, you will be someone who takes responsibility and makes things happen.
Experience
Essential
- Significant operational, project, programme or service delivery experience, with a track record of delivering measurable results.
- Experience managing people, budgets, contracts, suppliers and service performance.
- Experience of procurement, tendering or supplier selection.
- Strong stakeholder and relationship management experience, ideally across multiple organisations.
- Experience managing operational risk and working within appropriate governance and compliance frameworks.
- Sound understanding of health and safety in an operational or public-facing environment.
Desirable
- Experience in place management, hospitality, property, retail, destination management, events, a BID, local government or another fast-paced operational environment.
- Knowledge of Glasgow city centre.
- Experience working with public-sector partners.
- NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.
Working Arrangements
This is a full-time role based in Glasgow city centre and requires a highly visible presence across the BID area.
Occasional evening and weekend working will be required to support events, operational activity and stakeholder engagement.
What Success Looks Like

Projects move. People know what is expected of them. Partners engage. Suppliers perform. Issues are resolved. Investment is measured. Businesses see progress.
