Glasgow’s Hospitality Sector Goes All In!
Glasgow’s hospitality sector goes all in to deliver a sustainable welcome for Glasgow 2026.
With just one week to go until the Opening Ceremony of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, excitement is palpable across the city. More than 70 Glasgow cafés, bars, restaurants and hotels have come together to launch the ‘All In Welcome’, a new city-wide hospitality campaign celebrating sustainability, creativity and community ahead of the UK’s biggest multi-sport event this year.
As part of Glasgow 2026’s All In programme, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce’s Circular Glasgow initiative, supported by Sustainable Glasgow, Glasgow City Council’s Sustainability team, is inviting venues across the city to serve coffees, cocktails and signature drinks finished with the official All In mark throughout the 11 days of competition.
At the heart of the campaign are reusable drink stencils made from repurposed ocean plastic, inspired by the Commonwealth Clean Oceans Plastics Campaign connected to the King’s Baton Relay. By giving discarded material a second life during one of Glasgow’s most significant moments on the world stage, the initiative demonstrates how small actions can contribute to a more sustainable future.
Following the Games, the intention is to donate the stencils to schools across Glasgow, extending their impact by inspiring conversations around sustainability, creativity and circular design among young people.
Designed to create the warm Glasgow welcome for which the city is renowned, the activation showcases the strength of the hospitality sector while highlighting Glasgow’s growing reputation as a leading circular economy city.
More than a hospitality campaign, the All In Welcome demonstrates how businesses can work together to create a memorable visitor experience while embedding sustainability at the heart of celebrations. Participating venues are helping tell a positive story about Glasgow’s commitment to innovation, collaboration and responsible consumption.
Selected venues will also donate £1 from featured cocktails to the Official Charity partner of Glasgow 2026, The Commonwealth Sport Foundation, who supports programmes that use the power of sport to promote inclusion and bring communities together across the Commonwealth.
Susan Aitken, Leader of Glasgow City Council, said:
“The All In Welcome is about creating small moments of connection across the city. Whether it’s a morning coffee or a cocktail with friends, this campaign gives venues a simple and creative way to celebrate Glasgow 2026 while sharing a positive sustainability story with visitors and residents alike.”
Chris Ansell, Glasgow 2026 Director of Live Programmes and Engagement, said:
“Bringing together sustainability, creativity and community, this initiative reflects the spirit of Glasgow 2026. It’s a fantastic example of how local businesses and establishments can help create a warm welcome for athletes, visitors and residents while supporting the Games’ wider sustainability ambitions.”
Alison McRae, Senior Director for Glasgow Chamber of Commerce said:
“It’s terrific to see so many of our city’s businesses coming together to showcase the innovation and hospitality which Glasgow is renowned for, to visitors from around the world during Glasgow 2026. The All In Welcome campaign is a great example of circular economy in action and also reinforces the city’s recent 5th place ranking in the Global Destination Sustainability Index.’’
Visitors and residents are encouraged to look out for the All In mark in participating venues across the city this summer, discover the story behind the campaign online and share their own All In moments throughout the Games.
