Meet the Clean Team

Let’s Go Glasgow BID has officially started its first pilot project, with a dedicated Clean Team now operating across Glasgow city centre.

It’s a significant moment as the BID is moving from setup into delivery, focusing on making sure businesses start seeing real, visible improvements from their investment as quickly as possible.

The Clean Team will tackle the tasks that fall outside existing Glasgow City Council services. From  graffiti removal on private buildings, bins and street furniture, to targeting the city’s lanes. Helping improve these environments for everyday use. The team will be a visible presence on high footfall streets and key entry points into the city, seven days a week from 5am to 2pm. Delivered by ABM on behalf of the BID, the service will also include a dedicated online helpdesk where levy-paying businesses can log issues directly, with requests routed to either BID or Council responsibility depending on the requirements.

The pilot is intentionally designed to test and learn before a full tender process for a permanent Clean Team later this year. Starting with two operatives, the model gives the BID room to refine what’s working and adapt on the ground.

“ABM has been maintaining public spaces for over a hundred years across the globe, and we are proud of our decades-long presence at some of Scotland’s most iconic sites. It is a privilege to be part of Let’s Go Glasgow BID, an opportunity to make a real difference to the long-term sustainability of one of the most vibrant communities we serve.”
